Board of Education:
The Board of Education consists of seven members who establish district policies. The members are elected At-Large from the community to serve without pay for four-year terms. Meetings of the Board of Education are open to the public and are held on a rotating schedule at each of the district school sites throughout the school year. Meetings are normally held on the
second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m.
Testing Information:
District #37 administers a standardized achievement test (Iowa Tests of Basic Skills)
to students grades 1-8 each Fall, and the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT)
each Spring to students in grades 3-8. An ability test (CogAT)
is administered to students in grades 2, 4, and 6 each Fall.

Parent and Community Involvement:
PTA
Active PTA groups cooperate and work closely with school staffs for better schools and donate generously for school programs and equipment.
Band and Choral Parent Groups
Band and Choral Parent groups provide assistance for students in the band and choral programs by facilitating fund raising, transportation to competitions, and moral support.
District Leadership Team (DLT)
This committee consists of representatives of the Board of Education, administration, certified staff, classified staff, parents, and the community. The purpose of the DLT is to provide leadership for facilitating positive change related to teaching and learning.
School/Business Partnerships
Numerous school/business partnerships exist between the district and/or individual schools and community businesses. Major partnerships exist between the district and LinguiSystems, a national publisher of educational materials; and Case IH, a manufacturer of farm implement machinery. All schools within the school district are involved with Junior Achievement programs, which provide contact with over seventy-five loaned executives from twenty-four businesses in the Quad Cities.
United Township Area Schools Foundation
District #37 is a member of this foundation, which provides funds for the betterment of the area school districts.
Community and Civic Support
The East Moline community hosts a wide variety of community and civic groups that have historically supported educational endeavors of the district schools. Community voters approved a $7.5 million building bond referendum in March, 2000, to provide building additions and renovations.
