Glenview Middle School Counselors' Mission Statement
The mission of school counselors at Glenview Middle School is to meet the needs of their students making sure they are safe at school and empower them to become successful members of society. In order to fulfill this mission, school counselors look at a student's physical, social, mental, and emotional well-being. Information about these important aspects of a person is needed from parents, teachers, staff, administrators, and community resources so the student can be more aware about the progress or lack of progress they are making. In addition, the student is able to see that others are concerned about their health. School counselors follow the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics that includes maintaining confidentiality in situations except if they involve abuse and harming oneself or others. School counselors are continuously educating themselves to be increasingly effective in the knowledge of relevant topics parents and children are facing today. Overall, school counselors attend to the student's personal growth and development which is top priority for present and future choices and endeavors a student may take on
