Dear Hillcrest Elementary Families:
Hillcrest Elementary will close for a period of three weeks starting immediately. All instruction for Hillcrest Elementary students be moved to full-time remote learning until Tuesday, December 1. At that time, we plan to return for in-person hybrid learning.
We have made the decision to temporarily move all instruction at Hillcrest Elementary to remote learning due to a growing number of staff and students currently excluded from in-person learning due to a potential exposure, symptoms and positive tests for COVID-19. The closure is being implemented to minimize further spread. The safety of our students and employees is our first priority. The temporary closure affects Hillcrest Elementary only.
Other East Moline Schools will continue to offer in-person hybrid learning as normal. During the closure, Hillcrest Elementary will receive enhanced cleaning procedures and be sanitized for the return of our students and employees. If you would like to follow how COVID-19 is impacting the East Moline School District, you can see our daily averages each week by visiting our website and clicking on the banner at the top or going directly to https://www.emsd37.org/about/covid-rates
Please remember to do your part to socially distance, wash your hands, and wear a mask so we can return safely for in-person learning as soon as possible.
Yours for kids,
Dr. Kristin Humphries, Superintendent
