Early Learning Center

Ms. Morrison was recognized by the Rock Island Regional Office of Education (RIROE) for the February Employee of the Month Award at the East Moline Early Learning Center. Ms. Morrison has been an early childhood paraprofessional with the East Moline School District since August 2021. “Ms. T.” as she is fondly known by her colleagues and students, has been an early childhood educator since 2003 across various settings in the Quad Cities area. She holds an associates degree, and has had diverse experiences working with children in several different roles–as a tutor, as a preschool teacher/paraprofessional/director in community-based organizations, and as a child advocate. Ms. T. is loved by the students in her classroom, and she also works hard to build relationships with all students in our school. She has grown professionally, and has utilized professional learning opportunities to build her capacity, refine her skill set, and add tools to her repertoire of working with young children. She is willing to try different strategies and has a desire to learn new ways to help children engage in the learning environment to be successful. Thank you for being present for children, being part of our ELC School Family, and for your dedication to the early childhood profession, Ms. T.!

Are you interested in early childhood for your 3 or 4 year old? Start here! Our screening schedules are now open for March, April, and May. Currently enrolled students do not need an updated screening. These screenings are the first step in having your child be considered for enrollment at the East Moline Early Learning Center, and are a great way to check-up on their overall development! For January, Ms. Dawn was recognized by the Rock Island Regional Office of Education (RIROE) for the Employee of the Month Award at the East Moline Early Learning Center. Ms. Edwards (now Ms. Webster) joined our School Family in the fall of 2023. After a diverse career teaching in other districts and grade levels, Ms. Dawn has brought a renewed sense of literacy, passion, and intentionality to our early childhood programming. She has a limitless repertoire of tools, strategies, and materials that she incorporates into her instructional practices, thinking “outside the box” to ensure learning for ALL students. She is reflective, creative, and collaborative with her colleagues. Relationships are important to her, and she works hard to build partnerships with families.
