-The swim team had a meet against Rock Island this week. Event winners were: Sophia Maess and Connor Adair.
-Today’s Moment in Black History: Maya Angelou is a groundbreaking poet and author. One of her most famous poems, Phenomenal Woman reminds girls and women of all ages that you don't have to fit into society's norms, and it's okay to stand out and be yourself. Don't let anyone "box" you in. Ms. Maya says, “it’s the fire in the eyes” and “the sun of the smile” that are two traits to being a phenomenal woman.

-Attention 5th and 6th grade students: if you are attending tonight’s dance, please go to the North Gym right after school.
-The admission for tonight’s dance is $3 for all grades. There will also be snacks for sale.
-The 8th grade Lady Gators put together an energized 4th quarter comeback, but needed another minute or 2 on the clock, to claim the win. The Ladys' are traveling to Washington on Thursday, Go Gators!
-Latinx Workshop will hold an after school meeting today in the library. Enjoy popcorn, refreshments & music as we continue our work for the HERstory event. We need all members to attend! Speak with Mrs. Mojica if you have any questions.

-Today’s Moment in Black History: John Lewis helped organize the 1963 March in Washington, D.C. Mr. Lewis created his legacy as a fierce civil rights activist and represented the State of Georgia in the House of Representatives for many years until his death in 2020. Mr. Lewis is known for encouraging people to get in "good trouble, necessary trouble," meaning go the extra mile to make people uncomfortable by standing up for equality for everyone.

This event will take place Thursday, March 7th starting at 3. Admission is $1 for students and $2 for adults. Students are welcome to stay after school to attend if they brought the cost of admission and can ride the activity bus home. Concessions will be open. Come cheer on our Gators in uniform one last time before they become Panthers
