We will share past successes and unfinished work from previous plans, our current reality, and we will ask the community for feedback on developing our future strategic priorities as a school district. 1-17-24 Announcements
-Welcome back, One By One!! We will meet today after school in the library. Stop by to learn all about upcoming events for 2nd semester. We need everyone's help to decorate lockers for squad members. Speak with Mrs. Mojica or Mrs. Newton if you have any questions.
-Today's wrestling meet has been postponed - wrestlers will still have practice after school.
-The spring session of crochet club meets today in room 252. You should have received an invite to the Google Classroom, please check your email
-Drama Club spring session begins today. Students should meet after school in the north gym.
-French Club meets today in room 337
-Student Council meets today today in room 258
-Builders Club is canceled for Thursday
-Anyone interested in joining the swim team should plan on attending an informational meeting on Monday, January 22nd at the end of 9th period. You must complete the Google form in your homeroom to attend
-Multicultural Club is canceled for today.
EMSD will be back to school tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17th.
NWEA MAP assessments will continue tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17.
Students should:
-Arrive on time to school
-Be well rested
-Bring their charged Chromebook
-AND, be ready to ROCK the MAP assessment!

Due to the dangerously cold temperatures forecast for tomorrow morning, the East Moline School District will not have school (Tuesday, January 16) in person or through Electronic Learning. Due to inclement weather, tomorrow (Friday, January 12) will be a Snow Day for the East Moline School District. Due to the issues we had with our system for online learning, we will not hold an Electronic Learning Day until we get those fixed and make some changes. In the meantime, we will utilize a Snow Day for tomorrow and there will be no school for students and staff. We appreciate your understanding as we work to keep our students and employees safe.

7th grade girls basketball practice is canceled for tonight 1/11. Plan on having practice on Friday.
8th graders interested in playing football at UT: workouts have started. If you are an athlete, please continue to be with your team. If you are not in season, workouts will be Mondays Wednesday and Friday from 3:15 to 4:30 at UT. If you need more information, reach out to Coach Vroman.

-One By One is moving its monthly meeting to WEDNESDAY, January 17th. Stop by for a mental break from MAP testing! Members should make plans to attend

Good morning EMSD families!
Unfortunately, the district's virtual meeting platform crashed this morning making live instruction virtually impossible. Teachers have uploaded assignments into their Google Classroom or sent it home yesterday. Please have your child complete this work as best as they can and turn it in to their teacher when we return.
We apologize for this situation, and will make sure we are fully operational should another eLearning day be needed in the future. The positive is that this will provide students more time to enjoy this beautiful day by playing in all of this snow!!
