9-19-23 Announcements -The UTHS Panthers Player presents James and the Giant Peach! Students are $7 and Adults are $9. Show dates are September 28 and 29th at 6pm, September 30th at 2pm and October 1st at 2pm. Come and join us to witness an exciting peachy adventure! -Students who are going to the UT Soccer game today should report to Room 123 after the dismissal bell. -Youth Hope starts this week! Open center & guys nights starts today. Open center & girls night will start Thursday. Fridays will be open for 5th to 7th grade boys and girls. The Youth Hope van will be parked out in front of the school. -Student Council will meet on Wednesday September 20 at 2:30 in room 258. -Builders club will be having their first meeting this Thursday Sept 21 in room 149 from 2:30-4. -Art Club begins today for those approved for 1st semester. 9-18-23 Announcements -Thank you to the Latinx Workshop hermanas who volunteered for yesterday's Mexican Fiesta in EM. Your community service is much appreciated! Our next meeting is scheduled for September 27th. -Welcome to the 2023-2024 One By One members! Locker announcements have information on this year's meetings. 9-15-23 Announcements -8th grade defeated John Deere in 2 straight sets. Mya Powers-Lewis led the Gators with 9 Aces,3 kills, and 1 dig. Carmen Lewis defended the backcourt with 7 digs to go along with Sophia Crouse's 6 digs. Jillian and Sarah Peterson both had 2 Assists each. Good job Ladies. Next match is at home game on Tuesday vs Seton. -The PE teachers in the east gym wanted to applaud four students for their great efforts by getting over 100 on the PACER test. Those students are: Yaovi Amenyitor-100 Dustin Westbrook-101 DJ Carpenter-100 JayVon McDowell-104 -Latinx Workshop members who are helping with the fiesta set up are asked to meet at Runner's Park this Sunday at 8AM. Remember to wear your "Hermana Strong" t-shirt. 9-14-23 Announcements -Tennis Club meets today after school. Jayvon McDowell had 4 touchdowns and Bear Boynton had 2. Tyrian Walls had a punt return touchdown. Great job guys! Monday’s game next week is against Wilson at home. Hope to see you there! -Last night at the Glenview cross country invite the Gators ran some great races!!! Many runners received top 10 medals. The 7th grade girls out ran 8 other teams to bring home the first place trophy!!!! The boys and girls scores were combined for an overall team champion. The overall teamTrophy went to the Glenview Gators!!! The coaches are very proud of all runners!!! 9-12-23 Announcements -Latinx Workshop invites members and supporters to wear their Hermana Strong t-shirt tomorrow and every 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month. Together we are stronger and can move mountains! -Latinx Workshop will meet tomorrow after school in room 113. We need many members to help with our first major community project of the school year! It's not too late to join. 7th and 8th graders may pick up a registration form in student services or speak with Mrs. Mojica. -What's homecoming week like at a university campus? 9-11-23 Announcements -Come cheer on our girl's volleyball today after school at 4pm in the south gym vs Geneseo. LETS GO GATORS! -8th-grade volleyball players should meet in Ms. Hauer's room after school today. -Congratulations to the 6th through 8th grade Mariachi students for doing a great job representing Glenview during their performance on Sunday. They have also been chosen to be the Grand Marshall of the East Moline Parade on Sunday, September 17th. -8th graders who missed the DC Trip meeting can see Mrs. Gryp or Miss Schimmel. 9-8-23 Announcements -Registration forms are no longer being accepted for the following clubs: Art, Bracelets, Chef, Crochet, Cursive, French, Gamers, and Pure Sports. These clubs have reached their maximum number for both open slots and the waiting list. If you signed up for a club, your parent/guardian will receive an email by Sunday regarding your club's status. Please remind them to be on the lookout for an email from Mrs. Campbell. -Do you love Mexican food, games and music? Come support the 6-8th Mariachi students during their first performance this school year on Sunday at 11:15 am at the St. Anthony's Kerms Carnival.
