9-6-23 Announcements
-5th graders interested in attending the Lorado Taft trip must turn in their paperwork by THIS FRIDAY. Money is due September 15th. See Miss Staples or Mrs. Gryp for more information.
-7th and 8th graders interested in playing tennis should turn their completed form no later than tomorrow, Thursday, September 6.
-Karaoke club is looking for a few new voices to join in the fun. The club will meet once a month. Come and sing your favorite school appropriate songs.
-If you were in Robogators last year and would like to return, please see Mrs. Miller in Room 255 by the end of the day for a sign up sheet. Practice starts next week! See you soon!

We center the voice, culture, and history of Latinas and Latinx while empowering our members to give back to their community. All are welcome. Pick up a registration form in student services or speak with Mrs. Mojica for more details.
-One By One invites 7th & 8th graders interested in learning about higher education to apply for its program. We meet monthly and offer opportunities to better understand the high school and university system in the U.S. Applications may be picked up in student services, from Mrs. Newton in the library or from Mrs. Mojica in room 123. Deadline to apply is Friday!
-Latinx Workshop and One By One are scheduled for their 1st university campus visit during fall break. Permission slips are due no later than September 15th to Mrs. Newton in the library. Don't miss out on touring the University of Wisconsin-Platteville during homecoming week!

-Our own Madison Keys from Rock Island just qualified for the quarter finals of the US Open. We wish her good luck. Maybe you are the next big tennis star. Begin your tennis journey at Glenview. 8-31-23 Announcements
-Last night the Glenview cross country team competed in their first race of the year. The team ran in the Moline invite at Empire park. The team ran very well for their first meet.
Runners doing well were: Faith Huizar finished 14th in the girls top 7 race with a time of 15:40.
In the top 7 boys race Ayaad Ahmed, Zach El Majdoubi, and Jude Huber ran very well.
In the open race for the boys David Cobos ran a time of 16:42 to lead the boys. The Glenview girls won the open race. Congrats to them. Leading the way were: Mozdalifa Ali finished 9th with a time of 18:10. Lily Glaub finished 7th in a time of 17:56. The winner of the open girls race was Makela Anoumou in a time of 15:36. The coaches were very proud of all of the runners!!! The next meet is Wednesday September 6th in Geneseo.

The 6th, 7th, and 8th grade lost and found will be in the hallway near the library. This cart will only be in the hallway before school and at the end of each day.

-Registration for ALL after school clubs begin today! Registration forms will be available after 9am this morning in the main office. Online registration begins Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 9am. Students must have a parent/guardian signature in order to participate. With over 20 club offerings, there is something for everyone.
-One By One will kick off year 11 with an informational meeting on Thursday, August 31st. Stop by the library from 2:30-3:15 to learn how you can be a part of this academic program. Speak with Mrs. Newton or Mrs. Mojica for more details.
-The Lorado Taft meeting is tonight from 6 to 630pm in the North Gym for 5th graders interested in attending the trip. Make sure to bring a parent.
-Today is the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington. Rest in Peace Dr. Martin Luther King.

Thanks to all who attended and filled the stands!! 7th grade won 1 of 3 sets, 8th grade won 3 of 3 sets. 7th-grade shoutouts to Trinity with 3 aces, Keirson with 5 serves in a row and 2 aces, and Meliah with 7 serves and 5 aces! 8th-grade shoutouts to Jillian with 7 aces, Sophia C. with 4 aces, and Mya with 3 spikes!! Let's go Gators!!
